I have been contemplating designing a sculptural piece with old analogue technology to create my own mobile phone In other words finding an old analogue telephone, Polaroid camera, video camcorder, personal cassette player etc and combining them to make my own analogue mobile with all the gimmicks of a digital mobile phone. My problem arouse with the fact that most people seem to think that mobiles have always run on digital format, I myself thought so but with some extensive research I found out that the first mobile phones worked on radio wavelengths and did not convert to digital gsm format until the 90s. With bit rummaging through ebay I have managed to find a few old analogue mobile phones like the one below.
